Bring a Real Problem.
Let Students Explore It.

AgentWorks is a premium, domain-specific AI prototype studio embedded in an MBA course context, connecting the Brinc AI Lab ecosystem to high-touch, faculty-supervised student teams. Sponsors bring a scoped challenge and students explore, prototype, and present findings over one semester.

Explore Emerging AI

Bring an exploratory AI use case, an internal workflow you've been meaning to experiment with, or a 'nice to have' problem that deserves a prototype. Let a Rotman MBA team dig in.

Scoped, Supervised Work

Students work within a structured semester framework under faculty oversight. Sponsors bring a problem; teams explore and prototype under supervision, with outputs that may inform future development.

Supported by Brinc AI Lab

The Brinc AI Lab connects its ecosystem to the course, providing external industry mentorship, AI platform access, tokens and credits, coordination, and execution support throughout the semester.

Paths Forward

At semester end, sponsors can take the workflow internally, hire the student directly, or engage Brinc or another partner for a separate paid continuation. Whatever makes sense for the project.

10 sponsors per semester — with overflow handled separately

The May 2026 cohort is actively recruiting. Sponsors beyond the course capacity may be accommodated through a low-cost sprint engagement outside the formal course structure. Submit early to secure your spot.

Real Challenges.
Exploratory Prototypes.

Examples of the types of AI challenges explored by Rotman MBA students across past cohorts. Semester-bounded projects with outputs that informed sponsor decisions and, in some cases, continued development.

HealthcareRegulated Healthcare

PHIPA Compliance Reporting Automation

Challenge

Healthcare organizations spending 10 to 20 hours per month on manual PHIPA reporting, with inconsistent policy interpretation creating audit risk.

Approach

Policy interpretation agents automate PHIPA reporting workflows with Canadian data residency, enterprise audit trails, and a 'no training on client data' guarantee.

Output

Monthly compliance burden reduced significantly. Audit risk addressed through consistent, documented policy interpretation.

FinanceReal Estate Finance

Invoice & Rent Roll Reconciliation

Challenge

Finance teams manually reconciling invoices, rent rolls, and utility ledgers across dozens of properties, causing month-end delays and missed discrepancies.

Approach

AI engine ingests and cross-references financial documents, automatically flags anomalies, and routes follow-up actions, built on simulated data to protect sensitive records.

Output

Month-end close workflow prototype demonstrated. Finance staff redirected from data entry to strategic review.

RFP Qualification & Response Automation

Challenge

Sales teams spending 20 or more hours per RFP on manual qualification, drafting, and compliance review, often on deals unlikely to win.

Approach

AI scores deal attractiveness and win probability, auto-drafts responses, and learns which messaging wins by industry and evaluator type.

Output

Teams focus only on high-probability deals. Response quality improves with every submission. Prototype ready for internal continuation.
